Deep Sky is honored to have collaborated with the GRAMMY Award-winning alt-rock band System of a Down to craft the animated sequences in the official music video for their powerful single, "Genocidal Humanoidz." Our team skillfully developed a detailed, rubble-filled cityscape in 2D illustrations, bringing to life not only our main character but also the other inhabitants of this dystopian urban setting.
The character development process was meticulous, especially in creating the haunting demons that torment the city's residents, adding a profound depth to the narrative. We incorporated 3D animation in critical scenes to enhance the demons' eerie presence, effectively intensifying the video's dramatic impact.

Our collaboration with System of a Down focused on conveying a narrative deeply personal to the band, as reflected in the video's intricate imagery. We employed a striking visual contrast, using black-and-white for characters and backgrounds, while selectively coloring elements like the purple flower and the demons' red eyes to emphasize their metaphorical significance. To immerse viewers in the story, we utilized dramatic camera angles, accentuating pivotal moments such as the demons' sudden appearance and the protagonist's courageous stand with his people.
We integrated 2D and 3D animation techniques along with motion capture to intensify the video's emotional impact, aiming to elicit a strong response from viewers. This blend of animation styles was crucial in enhancing the narrative's depth and dynamism. Released in January 2021, the music video was part of a livestream fundraiser organized by the band to support the rehabilitation of Armenian soldiers with traumatic injuries. Deep Sky is proud to have contributed to this meaningful project, and we encourage support for the cause through the Armenia Fund at www.armeniafund.org. This project not only showcases our technical expertise but also underscores our commitment to projects that resonate with significant social and cultural messages.

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
