Deep Sky is nearing 20-years producing animation and live action content for worldwide creators and brands. That’s quite an accomplishment in our line of work. We’ve kept steady growth, a uniquely happy culture, and we’ve remained true to our vision for our studio. While we have 2D, 3D, VFX, and live action departments, our teams are cross-collaborative, providing an end-to-end studio pipeline for our clients. All of our artists get to work together across a large variety of projects like developing animated series and music videos for legends like The Smashing Pumpkins.
In 2003, Deep Sky’s name took inspiration from Jared Hobbs’ love for astronomy and storytelling - he envisioned a studio who welcomed all artists, checked their egos at the door, and had a fully-supportive work environment. - The studio had built a strong client base and produced a wide range of high-end content, so in 2016, Deep Sky entered a new era, partnered with our sister studio for interactive content Giant Astronaut, and made its mission to produce high-end animation and live action content for global brands. Today, Deep Sky’s mission as a creative partner is to bring together creative minds with new perspectives so we can continue sharing incredible stories while building a showcase of projects that are worth sharing.
Always! We welcome new clients and collaborators who are looking for that stellar studio who's nailed their production pipeline and also has a happy culture. It delights us to see how our professional exuberance adds to our client's experience, enabling their projects to excel. If you have an approved project ready to go, let's talk! If you're looking to get to know us for future collaborations, we love that too. It's possible we may already be an approved vendor for your company (Amazon, Intel or Nike). Just send us an email at inquiries@deepsky.tv to get a call on the books.
We do not. All work is kept in-house to keep our amazing local artists working. That, and clients prefer their projects remain under one roof for both efficiency and their information and files are kept confidential.
Absolutely! We also visualize robotics, nuclear energy, and semiconductors. Pretty rad.
From time to time, we can take on music videos from independent artists. If that's you, we do offer an Arts & Entertainment discount. Those are offered when scheduled releases have plenty of time and flexibility. Otherwise, we are generally approached by the artist's management or label with a hard budget and release date.
Unfortunately, we don't accept unsolicited submissions or unfinanced show pitches. We do however work with IPs and creators developing their TV series, whether it's animation or live action. If you have an existing IP or you're a production house with connections, let's talk.
Yes.
From time to time we'll onboard freelancers. While we keep all work in-house, large projects happen, and we need extra hands on board. If you're local and looking to contract in hopes to become employed full-time, you've come to the right place. Send your reel and portfolio to info@deepsky.tv. Whether you're a director, producer, artist, or writer, reach out and say hello.
Yes, you can apply at any time. Please supply a cover letter, resume, and your online portfolio to employment@deepsky.tv. Due to the amount of daily inquiries it may take time to get back to you. If you don't hear from us, please follow up after 60 days.
Yes we offer internships, generally during the summer. All internships are paid as per Oregon law. Our goal is to train and hire young talented artists to join our amazing team. Since we can only offer 1-2 internships at a time, we are selective, requiring a stellar portfolio showcasing your training and chops. Send your cover letter, resume, and link to your online portfolio to internships@deepsky.tv
Fun, caring, and inspiring! We all come from different backgrounds, locations, cultures, and work experiences. While we're selective with new hires, we welcome people from all walks of life. When a greater range of backgrounds, perspectives, and identities are present, we believe that creativity thrives. And all of us are better for it. We are proud of our ongoing efforts to provide equal opportunities for advancement, and we're excited to grow those even further to create a more equitable workplace and world.
